Biography
Classically trained violinist from Moscow-Russia,
Serguei Tchepournov (Music Degree Diploma) began playing
violin and piano at age seven and guitar at age fifteen. His academic
background includes fifteen years of training in music
performance and pedagogy in Ukraine and Russia.
Serguei has played violin, piano, guitar, bass-guitar with professional Pop and Rock music groups, like “Red Poppies”,”New Faces”, “Hello Song” and popular famous singers for 20 years, in Russia, Switzerland and Canada. He has played violin and viola with Moscow Radio and TV Symphony Orchestra, Moscow Opera Symphony Orchestra, Chambers Orchestras, Quartets, Trios, Duos, Solo...
As a music teacher, Serguei teach violin, piano, guitar, bass-guitar, theory, harmony since he was 19 years old in music schools in Ukraine, Russia and Canada.
Serguei has recorded fifteen (15) albums with Pop-Rock music groups in Russia and six (6) albums in Canada with traditional artists. Solo albums: "Gypsy Spirit" and "Christmas Album".
He has extensively toured in USSR and Europe with a number of groups and artists and participated in international music festivals in Germany, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Peru, Switzerland, Canada and USA.
As a Canadian citizen, residing in Oakville, Ontario, Serguei remained active both on stage and recording studio: as a soloist, as a composer, and as a music teacher - violin, piano, guitar, bass-guitar. Serguei is member of the Toronto Music Association, American Federation of Musicians, Toronto Phillharmonia Symphony Orchestra, Oakville Chamber Orchestra, Yamaha Music Canada, Canadian Music Teachers Association, Ontario Music Teachers Association, Suzuki International Music Teachers Association, SOCAN.
Serguei actively performs across Canada and USA for solo album: “Gypsy Spirit”, also for Wedding Ceremonies, Cocktail Hour, Corporate Event, Private Parties, Special Family Occasions, Birthdays...
